In a scene, I remember a dialogue ‘promises are meant to be broken’ which was in English, and many people say that most of the dialogues in my films are in English. There were a few dialogues Simbu loved and delivered them beautifully. The dialogue ‘promises are meant to be broken’ ,Simbu suggested that he’ll say it in TamiI and II said okay right away and that scene came out really well. He on the spot said ‘Sathyam Panrade Odaikaradu than’ It was literal translation from English as there is nothing like that in Tamil. It was beautiful when he said it and I let it be there. The whole sequence is beautiful.”

When asked about the song ‘Mannipaaya’, GVM said “It was a tough one to shoot, given the hero had to dance in a boat. We had to ensure his safety and the rest of the crew members’ safety too. That song was actually a surprise for me, from A.R.Rahman.I had told him the sequence and left. 3 days later, he called me, saying the song is ready. He had coordinated with Thaamarai for the lyrics and had suggested the term ‘Mannipaaya’ for the song.”
