Selvaraghavan, as the cliché goes, is a (complex) emotion. For anyone who hit their teens in the 2000s, Selvaraghavan was the first filmmaker to really get you, becoming the voiceover that told you that you were not alone as you dealt with all these new feelings you were suddenly feeling. It’s redundant to call his films ‘personal’; they are a part of who you are, growing on you as much as they grow with you. Right from the dilemmas of the school years in Thulluvadho Ilamai, to college life in Kadhal Kondein; from getting your first job along with 7G Rainbow Colony to adulting in Mayakkam Enna, there was always a Selva film that got there before you did.

Selvaraghavan’s last directorial to hit the marquee was the political satire NGK starring Surya in the lead role. The versatile director is now making his debut as an actor in “Saani Koodam” with the National award winning actress, Keerthi Suresh.  On the other hand, his upcoming directorial ventures “Mannavan Vanthanadi” with Santhanam and “Nenjam Marapathilla” starring SJ Surya has been stalled for a long time. It was earlier reported that the director will join hands with his brother Dhanush, but the latest buzz is that the director has decided to take one step at a time. Therefore, the filmmaker will be joining hands with Gautham Karthik and the movie is planned to wrap up in a short span of time. After completing Gautham’s film, Selva will direct Dhanush for a film produced by Thanu’s V Creations.
