Regal Talkies to premier 3 movies on the same day of launch

Theatres face a grim future in the post-Covid world and OTTs have witnessed a huge jump among audience, and producers could soon favour them.
The latest to make a ‘digital foray’ is CV Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment production banner whose pay-per-view (PPV) streaming service, Regal Talkies, has no higher time to release. V Kumar’s last venture was Maayavan which he directed and produced, now he is gearing up to launch his own OTT streaming platform ‘Regal Talkies’. This Tamil OTT streaming platform will be a tremendous shot for all the small, independent film makers and producers and directors whose passionate about movie making yet cannot afford the vast sum of money to bring it on screen. The app also includes feature for a group viewing (similar to Watch Party) where you can watch a film with friends and talk to each other while viewing it.

Due to the pandemic, there is a delay in the launch of “Regal talkies”. Whilst the preliminary plan was once to release the app on July 8 Regal Talkies can be downloaded on the Apple Store and Google Play from July 17.

Three films are rolled out for the release via the new OTT platform. Miruna is a short romantic flick written and directed by Rakav Mirdath, dialogue writer of Indian National Award winner, ‘Baaram’ and “Trace” will be premiering exclusively on Regal Tallkies on July 17. “Onbathu Kuzhi Sampath” is directed by JA Ragupathi will be released on July 24.
