Thalapathy Vijay was busy at his home here in Chennai yesterday. Planting tree saplings, Vijay uploaded pictures on his social media, and these posts have gone absolutely ballistic. Residing by his picturesque Neelankarai Beach House in Chennai, Vijay posted a bunch of photos, with one holding a sapling and facing the cameras. Thanking his fellow Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu for the incentive, Vijay Tweeted: “This is for you @urstrulyMahesh garu. Here’s to a Greener India and Good health. Thank you #StaySafe”

The Green India Challenge has been a big hit among Tollywood celebrities, and Vijay is the latest among big stars to take it up. It requires citizens to plant tree saplings in their homes and surroundings, so that our country is made greener and nicer to live in. Although Mahesh Babu challenged Vijay, Thalapathy in return has not challenged anyone yet.

After his Tweet, Mahesh Babu replied quickly with: “Thanks a lot brother for taking this up Stay safe!.”

Shruti Haasan too has shown interest in doing the challenge, and we can expect updates from her soon. Other celebrities who have taken part include Samantha, Nagarjuna, Prabhas and Raashi Khanna among others.
