Actor Samuthirakani to play the lead in Mu. Kalanjiyam’ next

Director Mu. Kalanjiyam made his debut in Poomani starring Murali and Devyani and won commercial and critical acclaim and went on bag the Tamil Nadu State Film award for the best story writer in 1996. The film maker has helmed a slew of films set in the rural backdrop including Kizhakkum Merkkum, Poonthottam, Nilave Mugam Kaatu, Mitta Mirasu and a book titled ‘Munthirikaadu’. After proving his mettle as a director, he also tried his luck as an actor in Karungali. Apart from that, he is also the head of ‘Tamilar Nalam Periyakkam’.

The latest update is that actor Samuthirakani will be joining hands with Mu. Kalanjiyam. The actor who heard the scripts and immediately agreed to play the lead. When the director went to narrate the script to Samuthirakani also handed over the book ‘Mundhirikkadu’  written by him. The powerful combination of two socially minded directors has created anticipation among the fans for the film.
