M.J. Sriram, who performs at The Black and White Resto Bar at The Residency, has been, over the last 200 weeks, filling this void. The 80’s concert titled ‘Black & White’ will be held every Thursday at a Happening for around 9 years now, singers M.J Sriram and Akhila render cult Ilayaraja and S.P Balasubramaniam songs every Thursday night. Called the ‘Mind, Body and Soul Night’, this happens to be one of Chennai’s first places to host local musicians. Every Thursday you can find the entire K’town celebrities to enjoy the Jam session. You might just bump into stalwarts like Mani Ratnam and Radhika among other actors, who are known to be visitors.

Sriram is all set to use the social media space to go live and relieve the panic and stress by hitting his fans by a wave of nostalgia, as the singers render Nalam Vaazha, Vaa Ponmayile, and many other evergreen hits. If you’re an ardent fan of 80s music, then hand in your requests! Come on, heads up cinema lovers! The live session is to be held at 8 pm tonight and you can tap your feet and listen to his concert at the same time on three consecutive days of the week, Thursday and Sunday. His wife Srileka will be singing along with Sriram tomorrow at this concert. The singer insists on choosing his songs at the venue rather than going in with a prepared list.
