“Kullanari Koottam” director returns back after a decade for his second venture
“Kullanari Kootatm” starring Vishnu Vishal, Ramya Nambeesan, Soori, Appukutty was critically acclaimed for the melodrama. Among all the sickle-waving, violent tales of Madurai, “Kullanari Koottam” came as a mild love story that actually hit the right notes.
Debutant Sri Balaji’s (co-director in Suseendran’s Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu) maiden venture, Darshan Creations’ Kullanari Koottam”, made the audience forget the minor quibbles in this sedate romance. After a promising debut the director is now all set to wield the megaphone for his second venture titled, “Soona Paana” featuring debutant Nijay in the lead.
While adapting character names from the movies has become a trend, the upcoming film title “Soona Paana”, is a popular hilarious character played by ace comedian Vadivelu in the 1998 movie ‘Kannathal’. This film marks the return of the director after a decade.
