“You’ve not just but lived as Nedumaran” – Director Vasanth
Those who are not amazed by Surya’s astounding performance in ‘Soorarai ‘Pottru’ are less. The film, which will be released on OTT, has been a humongous success, shattering doubts about its reception. Not only Surya but all the crew including Sudha Kongara, Aparna Balamurali, Karunas and GV Prakash are being flooded with appreciation across all quarters of the country.
Recently, director Vasanth who launched the actor in Kollywood has penned down a note wishing Surya and team. Actor Surya made his acting debut in his early 20s with director Vasanth’s Nerrukku Ner. The 1997 family drama also starred Vijay, who had about five years head start over Surya in the industry.
Vasanth has mentioned that the letter isn’t for Surya but for Nedumaran Rajangam, and has said that from the first frame till the end, he’s given his life and performed. “After being launched by me, though you’ve worked hard and performed well in many movies before, this is your best acting performance ever, for now. Even in the climax you don’t smile, displaying the determination to succeed, and you’ve not just acted as Nedumaran but lived as Nedumaran. Every time Nedumaran loses, you win as a performer, and you’ve given life to the character with your natural performance. Hats off to you my dear Surya, nobody can be happier than me, as you’re my seed, my tree and I can’t find words to express how proud I feel, and finish this letter with my blessings” read the letter.
