‘Soorarai Pottru’ to release in theatres?

Surya starrer ‘Soorarai Pottru’ directed by Sudha Kongra was released on Amazon Prime on the night of the 11th and became a blockbuster hit. The film is based on the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath. Audience still couldn’t get over by Surya’s astounding performance in the film. “Soorarai Pottru’, which was was streamed directly on digital platform, has been a humongous hit, shattering doubts about its reception. Not only Surya but also the crew including Sudha Kongara, Aparna Balamurali, Karunas and Jivi Prakash are being heaped with praises from all the quarters of the country.

‘Soorarai Pottru’ to release in theatres?

Though the film was earlier slated for theatrical release, the pandemic situation has changed its course. Lately, it is rumoured that the film will be released in theatres again. Prior to release Surya hinted on the theatrical release of the movie, once the situation reverts back to normalcy. “Now the theatres in Tamil Nadu are opened. It is a fantastic start. After getting the audience responses, probably, we will see if the film can be taken to theatres,” said Surya.

Theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is all set to re-pen from December 11. So there are plans to release the Telugu dubbed film Aakasam Nee Hathura in theatres for the first time.But for this to happen, the film crew has to buy a special permit from the Amazon Prime Video. The film crew is said to be involved with efforts to release the film in theatres. It is expected that more people will come to the theatre if the film is released as the first film as soon as the theatres open. And it is noteworthy that Surya has more fans in Andhra. Therefore, the audience can keep their hopes alive to witness Soorarai Pottru in theatres.
