Actress Kasthuri supports the “Imaikka Nodi” actor #Metoo allegation
Actress Kasthuri drew the ire of social media users for supporting Anurag Kashyap over a sexual harassment row. After allegations of sexual harassment, levelled by actor Payal Ghosh, many of his industry friends and colleagues have rallied in support. Bigg Boss fame Kasthuri has also defended the filmmaker on social media. Tagging the prime minister Payal wrote, “@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly. @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Please help!” Ghosh wrote. The actress, who made her Hindi debut with Rishi Kapoor-Paresh Rawal starrer “Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi”, also claimed that Kashyap boasted about his connection with megastar Amitabh Bachchan and claimed that there were other female artistes who he got intimate with. In a series of Twitter posts in Hindi, Kashyap dismissed the allegations, calling it an attempt to “silence” him.
His lawyer, Priyanka Khimani, issued a statement saying, “My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him. These allegations are completely false, malicious and dishonest.”The statement said that in this case, the Me Too movement was reduced to a mere tool for character assassination’, and that Anurag intends to take legal action.Several Bollywood celebrities came out in support of Anurag, including actors Taapsee Pannu, Tisca Chopra, Surveen Chawla, and Anjana Sukhani. His ex-wives, film editor Aarti Bajaj and actor Kalki Koechlin, also stood up for him.
