Besides filmmaking, Arumugakumar has a new exciting job

Director and producer Arumugakumar who rose up in the ranks on the back of a strong debut Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren (starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gautham Karthik) has now been appointed as a member of the committee of the Tamil Film Content & India Market by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS). While that might sound like a mouthful, rest assured that Arumugakumar is excited by the prospects of serving the Kollywood community and seeing to its best interests.

“I’m surprised by this uncalled-for offer,” quipped Arumugakumar. He continued: “I’m extremely happy about the stature that National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) has offered me. As a filmmaker and producer, the Tamil film industry has gifted me with more valuable experience. And now, to find this honour of being a committee member of Tamil film Content & India Market is a big boon to me.” The producer of Vijay Sethupathi and SP Jhananathan’s Laabam intends to utilize this chance to the maximum and promote the values and curiosities of our land in Malaysia. The director added that he “wants to build a substantial bridge between India and Malaysia in the panorama of entertainment.”
