Rumours were afloat that Bharathiraja’s son Manoj will take up the mantle for Sivappu Rojakkal 2, and that Keerthi Suresh would fill in Sridevi’s shoes. But now, he has come out and denied any such rumours.
Clarifying the issue, Manoj said that any announcement will be made by his dad, and that no heroines have been approached yet. He went on to Twitter yesterday to say as much:
Recently there is a lot of news about about #SigappuRojakkal2 Which is not true. Once things fall in place, me and my dad @offBharathiraja Will make an official announcement. Thanks for your concern. @onlynikil .

Sivappu Rojakkal is a 1978 classic co-written and directed by Bharathiraja. It’s a psychological thriller about a sensitive young chap who after having traumatic experiences with women at a young age, grows up to be a misogynist, rapist and serial killer. It starred Kamal Haasan and Sridevi playing the lead, with Ilaiyaraaja doing the music.
