Powerstar Srinivasan is back to playing the hero

Actor Srinivasan, better known as ‘Powerstar,’ has signed a new movie where he heads the lead character. Directed by debutant RS Mani, the film is an erotic comedy and family drama rolled in to one, and is meant as a fun change from the serious stuff.

In a world where the younger generations put off marriage in favor of a career, the consequences of their familial decisions are rarely charted out. So, this new film titled Murungakkai takes up that point and is the story of a man who follows a similar path. He then gets old and there are repercussions to his decisions. How he handles these troubles forms the rest.
One of the reasons the director chose Powerstar is because he is older than the usual pack and hence the comedy might be even more poignant. Srinivasan plays a techie in the film.

Shot mostly in Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Kodaikanal and Poombarai, the movie is more than two-thirds completed. Once the Covid-19 lockdowns are eased, the reminder including the songs would be finished. The film also has Marimuthu, Tamilselvi, Elizabeth, Aadukalam Murugadoss, and Manobala in important roles. Kumar Sridhan handles the cameras.
