Teejay’s “Thatrom Thookrom” screened at Toronto International Tamil Film Festival

Teejay Arunachalam , a UK based singer who made an impressive debut in Asuran, as Dhanush’s elder son, next venture “Thatrom Thookrom” film has been received a prestigious status to screen at the Toronto International Tamil Film Festival. Helmed by Arul the film stars Teejay in the lead role.

The film resonates around the demonetisation era in the backdrop and is said to follow three orphan boys, who have a smart politician on their tail. The trailer of the film has already been released and has been well received by the audience. The film is currently being screened at the Toronto International Tamil Film Festival. The production house, Media Marshall Company, expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the honour and hinted that the movie will hit the theatres soon after the lockdown.

Speaking about the movie director Arul says , “Everyone in our team are very much excited with this news. Excitement doubles as this pandemic has put us in idleness with no light. This gives us energy to move on.” On the film, he says, “This story got triggered when Indian Government announced demonetization in 2016. It is fictional story based on some true events which happened during demonetization. This film is about three orphan boys who would like to not just survive but wanted to be a part of the opulent group in this society and they get trapped under powerful politicians and their struggle to come out of this trap is the story. It’s a complete action thriller, which would engage you for two hours. Kabilan Vairamuthu has penned the dialogues and lyrics of this movie. Kabilan Vairamuthu’s demonetization song sung by STR went very viral and has become a notable song.” The film also features Seenu Mohan, Kali Venkat, Linga, Marimuthu, cinematographer Shakthi Saravanan in key roles. Balamurali has been roped in to compose the music.
